Check out our new  project exposing school board members and school leaders focused on indoctrinating children rather than educating them.

Sarah Thornburg

Chair of the Board

  • In a news questionnaire about what qualities she will seek in a new superintendent, she said she wants a central office that nurtures students in “mind, body, and spirit.”
  • She said the district should prioritize teacher recruitment that reflects “the diversity of their classrooms.”
  • After the Parents Bill of Rights (state law) was passed to prohibit teaching about sexuality and gender identity in elementary schools, Thornburg said, “we’re all struggling with this” and “At the heart of it, it’s bad policy and we all hope and pray it will be overturned in the courts or elsewhere.”
