  • At the Jan. 18, 2024 school board meeting, Griffin recommended not adopting parts of the state mandated Parents’ Bill of Rights, specifically regarding pronouns and gender identity.
  • In an Oct. 2025 candidates forum, Griffin bragged about not adopting two items from the Parents’ Bill of Rights and claiming they were the only district to stand up to the General Assembly. Griffin claimed it was risky but they had to make a statement. Yet in Dec. 2025, Griffin told a House Oversight committee, “I can say with 100% certainty that we, as a district, are complying with the law.”
