    • Refused to sign off on a U.S. Dept of Education requirement to certify the district is not pushing DEI.
    • In his first year on the job in Loudoun, WJLA reported that Spence missed a month of school. WJLA found pictures of Spence at a taxpayer funded conference in Miami at a nightclub. He went on 4 trips in 3 months to Puerto Rico, San Diego, and Richmond for conferences. Spence was paid $15,000 to attend and speak at the San Diego conference on “reclaiming the narrative.”
    • Loudoun County sheriff reported responding to 11 student overdoses, but Spence told Virginia leaders that only four students overdosed.
    • Upheld the suspension of male students who were uncomfortable with a female student in the locker room.
    • Spence is one of the highest paid Superintendent’s in the nation at over $500,000.
    • Did not remove lewd books depicting oral sex from school libraries.
