Check out our new  project exposing school board members and school leaders focused on indoctrinating children rather than educating them.

Leroy Tre Hutchins

Board Member

  • When the school board voted in 2021 to ban the teaching of critical race theory and the 1619 project, Hutchins abstained from the vote.
  • In a news questionnaire, Hutchins said, “Systemic racism is all around us in Cobb County and Cobb Schools” . . . “The disproportionate rate in which children of color are disciplined speaks directly to these systemic challenges.”
  • When asked about security and safety in schools, he said that “bias training” should be “part of this conversation.” He also said, “I am not in favor of campus policing. The focus should always be student achievement.”
  • Hutchins voted against terminating a teacher who read a divisive book about gender identity to her elementary students, reportedly against Georgia divisive concepts law.
