Fairfax County Public Schools Policies

  • Virginia Attorney General found Fairfax schools was in violation of the Virginia Human Rights Act and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by discriminating against Asian American students in the admissions process at the school. The AG said, “”The board abandoned a race-neutral, merit-based system that previously was in place, and they adopted a policy structure specifically designed to reduce the number of Asian American students.” The U.S. Department of Education launched an investigation in 2025.
  • Bill Cassidy sent a letter to the Fairfax Superintendent demanding answers regarding allegations that school officials were coercing children to get abortions against their will.
  • In Sept 2025, a 14-year-old girl saw a male sophomore with facial hair insider her locker room in PE. The boy identifies as a female and it’s alleged that he was watching the girls get changed. A complaint states the boy uses both the girls and boys bathrooms and locker rooms at the school.
  • In 2024, West Potomac High hosted a drag show for students called “Kinky Boots.”
  • In 2025, FCPS issued a student survey (requiring opt-out rather than opt-in) that asked questions about sexuality, gender identity, drug use and sexual activity.
  • In 2025, FCPS harassed a student over his answers to what was supposed to be a confidential survey.
  • FCPS spends $6.4 million on 52 employees in their equity office.
